Doctoral Thesis in internal geophysics on :
"The figure of the Earth :
Gravimetry, stress regime and free oscillations"
at IPG Paris and Strasbourg (Abstract).
Assistant professor (geophysics) in the Earth sciences lab.
of "Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon".
My research interest is
global geophysics, especially : gravity, shape of the Earth, deviatoric stress, hydrostatic and non hydrostatic Earth ;
a litle bit of seismic modes ;
the mechanical behavior of phase changes.
Also some history of sciences : works of D'Alembert on tides and shape of the Earth.
And also some curiosities as the (supposed) link between the Moon and human birth rate.
My teaching interests are the
mathematical and physical aspects of earth sciences :
mathematics, signal processing, inversion, wave propagation, gravity and
general geophysics.
Some personnal stuffs :
I 'like' this picture :
[In french] Do high salaries earn a lot in total?
My answer, in the form of a small mathematical application, is
here.
I discovered that the trompe l'oeil painting can be marvelous with the fine work of
Ludovic Bottosso.
I 'like' this curve : ratio of the salary of a french, begining, assistant professor, on the minimum french salary since 1984 :
I have been drinking water at home with lead inside for a long time without knowing it. When I discovered and stopped that, I began to measure lead in my blood. Here is this curve, during 6 years (red), together with the best fitting decreasing exponential (blue). The half-time decay he finds is 4 years. This is due to the release in blood of the lead stored in the bones. The litterature says the half-time in bones is 20-30 years ; I don't why there is such a difference.
Everything is fine in the halls of the French university:
